We are Dixie Catering, a family-owned business that has been around for 60+ years with roots in Miami but providing catering services all over Florida. Our priority is to offer outstanding quality, complete meals to make sure our customers have a one-of-a-kind experience that will result in a nostalgic memory of Grandma’s homemade meals.
We have both grown and expanded a lot over the years and we are proud to say that we serve 10,000,000+ meals per year; we are constantly working on the revision of our menus for their evolution and change to constantly adjust to any needs/wants that our clients might have while making sure we are providing the most nutritious foods. Committing ourselves to the highest quality standards, we put out over 12,500 hot meals per day and 7500 cold box lunches; we are proud to mention that our track record for delivery is 100%. Our business has thankfully grown so much that, while we have our home kitchen in South Florida, we were recently able to expand to Central Florida by opening another one. 
This mentioned expansion has not been home to any name changes, changes in ownership or reorganizations within the past 5 years; Dixie has had the same owner since 2015, and the same name since its beginnings. Thankfully, and due to our hard work, we have never in Dixie’s history been declared in default of any contract, or had to file for reorganization, protection from creditors or dissolution under the bankruptcy statutes. Additionally, we are not subject of any litigation. All these factors combined have allowed and contributed to our development. 
In 1958, when we first opened our doors, we were a restaurant located in South Dixie Highway and Southwest 152nd Street. Due to the business’ success, in 1988, Dixie grew into catering private events and companies. Later, when the demand for our food became extremely high, circa 1997, we expanded to also cater to private and charter schools in many counties all over the State of Florida – some examples are Miami- Dade, Broward, Lee, Duval, Port St. Lucie, Palm Beach and Collier County. To serve the most nutritious and balanced meals in a more expansive way, we work under the NSLP [National School Food Program], which is the country-wide approved way of serving meals to students; for the schools that are not under the NSLP, we also do private contracts, but always following the State’s regulations in order to make sure all of the meals abide by all of the health requirements. We are approved/certified by the National School Lunch Program [NSLP] and serve schools and students all over the Sunshine State. Additionally, we cater to homebound delivery meals, adult care centers and child daycare centers [CCFP approved], summer camps [SFSP approved], private parties and events of all kinds.
Some of the private events we have had the pleasure of working for repeatedly throughout the years are 4th of July at the Trump Resort in Doral, as well as the University of Miami’s annual color run, Miami Corporate Run, and the opening of the Frost Science Museum. We were awarded for our food in the March of Dimes, and have continuously served meals to the Doral Police Department’s Training Facility. We have catered many of the City of Hialeah’s Camera of Commerce private events, and have stepped up during natural disasters and COVID19 to continue feeding as many people as needed. Needless to say, we are very proud of our history.
